Asus ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro, ROG Phone 5 Ultimate specifications, features

The Asus ROG Phone 5 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with up to 18GB of RAM. The storage is 256GB using the UFS 3.1 standard but there is no support for a microSD card on the phone. Asus has given the ROG Phone 5 a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED display manufactured by Samsung with a 144Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. The high refresh rate will allow most high-end games to run smoothly but there does not seem to be support for adaptive refresh rate that helps in battery-saving. There is support for HDR10+ and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The display embeds the optical fingerprint sensor for biometric security. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which Asus said could not be ditched considering the huge demand from gamers. The Asus ROG Phone 5 runs Android 11 software with ROG UI. There is support for 5G on dual SIM card slots, as well.

The ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro, and the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate are not very much different. The ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate have the dot-matrix ROG Vision display (former has a PMOLED colour screen while the latter has a monochrome PMOLED screen) while the standard ROG Phone 5 only has the ROG logo on the back. The difference in terms of RAM and storage includes 8GB, 128GB and 12GB, 256GB for ROG Phone 5, 16GB, 512GB for ROG Phone 5 Pro, and 18GB, 512GB for the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate. All three phones have ultrasonic Air Triggers on the sides but the ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate have two extra sensors on the back. The ROG Phone 5 series comes with three cameras on the back, a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. For selfies, the Asus ROG Phone 5 has a 24MP sensor with Quad Bayer technology. The camera system supports up to 8K 30fps video recording. The phone has front-firing speakers with Dirac HD support. It has four microphones that use OZO noise reduction technology to give a good gaming experience. And the Asus ROG Phone 5 has a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging.
